Apply to Contribute

Roughly fifteen minutes. We ask for two writing samples and three article ideas because that's what actually tells us whether you'll be a good contributor, far more than a job title does.

About you

Use your own details and your work email address. Applications submitted on someone else's behalf are declined.

Your expertise

Select up to three areas you could write about repeatedly without running dry.

Select at least one area of expertise.
The thing you know better than almost anyone else in the room.
Your writing

Samples can be published articles, newsletters, internal memos or an unpublished draft. We're reading for argument and clarity, not prestige of outlet.

Tell us if a piece was edited by someone else, co-written, or sits behind a login.
Three article ideas

The most important part of the application. Give us a headline and a sentence on the argument. Specific beats broad every time.

Fit & disclosure
Be straight with us. “I want more inbound for my consultancy” is a fine answer; we just need to know it.
Equity positions, board seats, advisory roles, client relationships or vendor partnerships in the areas you'd cover. Write “none” if there are none.
Confirmations

All four are required.

Please confirm all four statements.

You'll get a confirmation email immediately and a decision within 10 business days.

Application received

Thanks. That's Everything We Need.

A confirmation is on its way to the address you gave us. Two editors will read your application: one for subject-matter credibility, one for the writing. You'll hear back within 10 business days either way, so there's no need to follow up before then.

In the meantime, the best preparation is the style guide, particularly the sections on structure and sourcing.
